A legendary bird that has been depicted in many ways in epic mythology, philosophy and even in medical studies, is held in such high regard in Persian mythology.Phoenix (in Persian “Simorgh”) Is an abbreviation of the two Persian words “See” and “Morgh”. It has also appeared in Avesta as “Maraghu sa’enu”, and in Pahlavi scripts as “SeeMorogh”.

In Iranian myths, Simorgh lives on the top of Mount Qaf. She is often referred to as  a symbol of knowledge and wisdom and is the one to look after Zaal, (the outcast albino prince) And even later on, the one to help Zaal’s descendant, Rostam in his battle with Esfandiyar. By the time of farewell, Simorgh gives Zaal three of her feathers, which if burnt, can summon the phoenix for help. When Zaal’s wife, Rudabeh falls ill while giving birth to Rostam, Zaal burns the first of the three feathers to save his wife and child from death. The two remaining feathers are given to Rostam by Zaal. Rostam burns the second one to ask for aid in his battle with Esfandiyar. And for the third feather, it is quite unclear whether it was burnt or not. It is neither depicted by Ferdowsi or any other source, what became of it.

The naming idea of the Zaal advertising agency is based on the concept that, like Zaal, we possess the third feather whose whereabouts are unknown. This feather is in our possession, allowing us to harness the wisdom of Simorgh to solve our clients’ problems.
